Opening Doors to Successful Industrial Automation by Meticulous Transformation 穩中求變打開自動化工業的成功之門 Moving Forward to Industry 4.0 邁向工業 4.0 While the global economy is slowing down alongside the stagnation of industrial development around the world,China’s GDP has recorded a growth rate of 6.5 per cent in 2017, showing clearly that the demands of industrial and manufacturing markets in the Mainland remain strong. In order to seize the immense business opportunities of the Mainland market, it is important for local enterprises to stand out in this intense competition by maintaining stability while seeking transformation as well as inheriting skills.Many Hong Kong corporates see huge business opportunities arising from Industry 4.0 and adjust their operating practices to achieve sustainability. 近年環球經濟增長放緩，引致全球工業持續受壓，然而中國的生產總值於 2017 年仍錄得 6.5% 增長，反映國內市場對工業和製造業 的需求依然向好。本地企業必須在這競爭激烈的淘汰賽中，透過穩中求變和技術承傳突圍而出，才能承接內地市場的龐大商機。 不少港商明瞭到「工業 4.0 」將為其發展帶來龐大商機而紛紛調整經營手法，達至可持續發展。 The Chairman of Group 32 (Hong Kong AutomationTechnology Council, HKATC) under the auspices of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries and Executive Director of Pro-Technic Machinery Ltd Robert Lai says, “It takes innovation for any enterprise to adapt tomarket changes,and right now local enterprises are increasingly applying industrial automation to overcome these changes, that is why I have a positive outlook on Hong Kong’s development of industrial automation in the next five years. Despite keen competition from the Mainland manufacturers and problems of industrial talent shortage, Hong Kong companies have an edge on creativity and novelty; as long as we can design products and services that cater for customers’ needs, our competitiveness will be enhanced.” 香港工業總會第 32 分組（香港自動化科技協會）主席兼寶力機 械有限公司執行董事黎啟東表示：「任何企業都要不斷創新來 面對市場變化，本地工業現在正為了適應市場轉變而對自動化 的需求大增，故我對未來五年香港在自動化方面的發展持正面 態度。雖然面對內地競爭及專業人才短缺，但香港企業的優勢 在於創意，只要我們能設計出迎合客戶需要的產品和服務，香 港工業的競爭力便自然會提升。」 Contributed by Hong Kong Industrialist 資料提供：《香港工業家》 Adjust to Adapt 調整營運迎接挑戰 Although the local industrial development is commonly considered to be declining, many local enterprises have successfully turned risks into opportunities with the help of industrial automation; their success has resulted in increased competitiveness of Hong Kong industries. Pro-Technic is one of the successful examples. Robert Lai says, “A successful enterprise must adjust their business from time to time; my business motto is ‘a small change in five years, and a major change in ten years’. I also believe that skill training is as crucial as business development, that is why half of our staff members are engineering personnel.” In order to cater for market needs, Pro-Technic established automation and applied engineering department in 2008, and set up offices and solution centres in 17 cities in the Mainland. Being a distributor and a system integrator now, the company has successfully provided turnkey industrial automation solutions to automotive, watch, and other industries. 雖然不少人認為本地工業式微，然而現實中卻有不少本地企業 成功以自動化轉危為機，更銳意協助業界在整體工業市場中提 升競爭力，成立於 1977 年的寶力正正是其中一個成功改革的實 例。黎啟東表示：「成功的企業必須因應時日變遷去作相應的 業務調整，我的營商概念是『五年一小變，十年一大變』。我 相信技術培訓與業務發展同屬重要一環，故此工程部員工共佔 公司總人數的一半。」寶力更瞄準市場所需，早於 2008 年已設 立了自動化及應用工程部，及後於內地 17 個城市設立辦事處和 方案中心。現時，寶力更身兼分銷商和系統集成者的角色，成 功為汽車、鐘表等行業提供一站式自動化工程生產方案。 15 Industry News 行業資訊
